The pick is Wolf Legion to the Lion clan. His desire is for the Wolf Legion to go Toturi's Army style, returning to their ronin status, with the ronin trait. He wants their allegiance, not their fealty. Interestingly enough, during the finals, Daidoji Akagi was dishonored, then restored to honor as a ronin. David and Chris both wanted to make sure this was known to the story team. The finalists wanted to make it known that they support the Feather and Claw Alliance. David will be collecting bounties later. Ling has been informed. David also went undefeated all day, and during the warm-up tournament yesterday. He will now go to sleep.

Will then allow me to assist.

From page 30-31 of Secrets of the Dragon, we learn that Mirumoto Shokan is the governer of Heibeisu having gained that post shortly after the end fo the Dragon/Phoenix war. It goes on to say,"It was shortly afterwards that the ronin Saigorei and the legendary Wolf Legion appeared in the city, pledging their allegiance to Mirumoto Shokan and the Dragon Clan. ... Saigorei declared that Shokan was the one man in all the Empire who best exemplified the virtues that Toturi held in the highest regard. ... Saigorei and his comrades swore their fealty to Shokan in the hopes of making a difference in the world once again. ... It was Sagorei who proposed that the Legion find a new master worthy of their service, and it was he who ultimately suggested Mirumoto Shokan. Saigorei has tremendous respect for the younger samurai, and hopes that he and his comrades can prove one last time that even a ronin can change the face of Rokugan for the better."

So, how does the allegiance of the Wolf Legion shift from Shokan and the Dragon to the Lion while the clans are effectively at war?
Regardless of how you resolve it, I feel Shokan should be in there somewhere.

Has anyone seen Rob Bowman lately?

Y ahora el comentario de Takezo:

Congrats David on a well deserved win.

The subject of the legion's allegiance also came up on the dragon forum, so I'll try and address it as best as posisble. The Legion swore their following to a single man, not the dragon clan as a whole. One of the key differances that seperates TA/Wolf Legion from the clans is that they follow a sole indiviual not a clan or family, which is also a choice, not an obligation due to birth or other due to samurai status.

Rob (shokan) had a well deserved win and there is nothing that a lion alliance with the wolf legion would detract from his win. Samurai have shared duties to both Toturi's Army and either the Lion and Dragon in the past (hence the collection of dual aligned people) it is possible for them to serve a clan that has a common goal with the legions aims as well.

Shokan stands as "first among equals" ie the leader of the legion that will remain unchanged. Shokan has ties to the Dragon as do many of the senior wolf legion leaders, but their oath and duty to the empire takes priority above the obligations of the clans. Which is why they have a somewhat bad rep despite their noble efforts. Such an organization challenges many key tenets of the established samurai culture but they are their own animal that can only be truly understood by their fellow ronin.

The story prize is an alliance with the legion, not their fealty. Their true fealty belongs to Toturi alone, and by entension to the common people of the empire. The lion have had just as much of a hand in their creation as the dragon, a point that certainly has not lost on the legion members. Many of the ronin were once Akodo, and while they made a break with the family to follow their own path they still hold the Akodo and the rest of the lion clan with upmost respect.

As a long time TA player and having a hand in the story creation of the legion it makes me quite happy to see us in alliance again with both parent clans. I think this will make a great story result and in no way will it detract from the role and character of what makes the wolf legion so unique.

Y ahora vas y lo cascas... XD

2? ¿Una Sachika oficial de la legión ;) ? ¿¡UN CAMPAMENTO BASE / DOJO / FORTALEZA UNALIGNED!? Los caminos de AEG son inescrutables...
